Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer Nominee Bilal Zafar was working on a new online comedy series when the coronavirus crisis struck. Luckily he already has five episodes filmed and ready to go so has started to release them. In each episode Zafar offers advice to an actor who he thinks may be underperforming or not reaching their potential. Zafar is a stand-up but has also had acting roles in C4's Catastrophe, Last Christmas and Hollyoaks. His first masterclass is out now and features guest Josie Long.

April 11th will be the one year anniversary of the sudden death of comedian Ian Cognito.
The famously anarchic stand-up, whose real name was Paul Barbieri, suffered a heart attack and died while performing at the Lone Wolf Comedy Club at the Atic in Bicester on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
