News: Johnny Vegas Makes Surprise Appearance At Panto

The audience at last night’s performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at St Helens Theatre Royal got a special Christmas present when comedian Johnny Vegas walked onstage.

The Benidorm and Still Open All Hours star has been playing the role of the Magic Mirror during this year’s festive production, but appearing via pre-recorded video projection each night. However, the star surprised the cast and the audience by making a very special live appearance.

ITV comedy Benidorm and US sitcom Big Bang Theory were two of the winners at the TV Choice Awards last night.

The Spain-set ITV comedy, which co-stars Johnny Vegas and Steve Pemberton, picked up Best Comedy, while the American geekcom picked up Best International show.

News: Johnny Vegas Biopic in Pipeline

A movie version of Johnny Vegas's best-selling autobiography Being Johnny Vegas is being developed.

The film, which Vegas is hoping to direct himself, will chart the comedian's early life when he briefly considered joining the priesthood. Vegas would not be able to play himself and the project has not reached the casting stage yet, but speaking at the Sky Cat Laughs Festival in Kilkenny the Benidorm star joked that they would have to find someone young who "drank cider" and "fought geese".
