Museum Exhibition To Celebrate Ken Dodd

An exhibition celebrating one of the UK’s best-loved and most influential comedians, Sir Ken Dodd, opens at the Museum of Liverpool on 9 September (until 3 March 2024).

‘Happiness!’, the first major exhibition on a comedian in a national museum, is steeped in Doddy’s unique blend of whimsical, physical, surreal and theatrical humour, which transformed the UK comedy scene.

News: Ken Dodd's Gravestone Vandalised

Ken Dodd and Cilla Black's graves have been vandalised.

Reports say the headstones were damaged and written on in Allerton Cemetery in Liverpool.

Cilla Black's headstone were repaired in situ but Dodd's has had to be temporarily removed.

News: Ken Dodd's Funeral Takes Place

Ken Dodd's funeral has taken place in Liverpool. 

Fans paid their final respects to the comedian on the route fom his home in Knotty Ash to Livepool Cathedral. A floral Diddyman was propped up next to the coffin.

Dodd died at the age of 90 earlier this month.

Ricky Tomlinson, Stephanie Cole, Miriam Margolyes, Jimmy Tarbuck, Stan Boardman and Jimmy Cricket were among those in attendance.

The legendary Liverpool comedian had recently spent a period in hospital for a chest infection but had been back home and had been talking about performing again.

The 90-year-old entertainer was speaking from his hospital bed in the Liverpool Heart And Chect Hospital where he has been for the last two weeks with a severe chest infection.
