Comedian Ahir Shah's short is set in the suburbs where a family is celebrating Indian Independence Day with a big meal. Except that Viraj (Shah) has to break some news to his grandmother. He and Poppy (Freya Parker) are planning to move to India.
Can grandmother cope with the news? After all, her generation did everything they could to move from India to the UK? How can her disloyal grandson do this to her?
The English countryside is a rich source of comedy. Just look at the recent success of BBC3's This Country or Julia Davis' Camping. And this short by comedy regulars Pepperdine and White mines a similar vein of unspoken weirdness always just under the surface.
David Earl and Joe Wilkinson appear to have missed the memo that said that these comedy shorts were supposed to have a summer theme. Luckily they remembered the bit about them being comedies.
Their short film is set in a one horse cowboy town where misfits Brian (Earl) and Gulch (Dan Skinner) are competing for the affections of classy prostitute Madame Haystacks played by, yes, Joe Wilkinson revealing hidden depths as the tart with a heart (and a beard).
Andrew Flintoff is already a star on Sky thanks to his antics on A League Of Their Own and now he plays a romantic lead – no pun intended – in Pacino & Bert, this short film about a dreamy dog walker written by Daniel Maier.
Jocelyn Jee Esien's very short two-hander finds her playing a daughter lost in a West London park with her mum (Ellen Thomas) as they try to find their way to the Notting Hill Carnival.
They are all dressed up and want to go to join the memorial float to honour Esien's late father but are distracted and end up on a bench talking about what they really feel. Mum wants Jocelyn to settle down. Why isn't she married? Why isn't she a mum? Is she a lesbian?
Sky has attracted some big talent for its latest series of shorts and none bigger than serial genius Sharon Horgan, who sadly doesn't appear in Morgana Robinson's Summer but has written this pocket-sized seaside comedy drama. Imagine Benidorm set in Thanet with a Mike Leigh sub-plot.
Tributes have been coming in for Michael Bond, the creator of Paddington who has died after a short illness at the age of 91.
Bond was still writing stories about the famous bear earlier this year. A second Paddington film is currently in production. Buy the first one on DVD here.

Pranking went on long before the internet and even TV were invented, but now in the post-Jackass world it has moved on to new levels. And Comedy Central in the UK is currently after a piece of the action.
