News: Eddie Izzard To Appear At Intimate Fringe Benefit

Eddie Izzard is to appear in a 50-seater venue at the Edinburgh Fringe on Saturday August 19.

Izzard is taking part in a run of gigs featuring comedy promoter Stephen Garland, who runs comedy gigs in Spain. Garland is telling his story onstage of being diagnosed with PPMS and raising money to get to Russia to stop his disease with Stem Cell Therapy. More info at www.stopmyppms.com

The winners of the 20th South Bank Sky Arts Awards were announced at a ceremony today.
The Sharon Horgan/Rob Delaney sitcom Catastrophe picked up Best Comedy, beating Peter Kay's Car Share and Michaela Coel's Chewing Gum.
Eddie Izzard was presented with the Outstanding Achievement award by Lenny Henry, joining previous winners from Tracey Emin to J.K Rowling. Host of the awards Melvyn Bragg said “Eddie Izzard is a marvel.

News: Eddie Izzard Gets Special South Bank Sky Arts Award

Eddie Izzard has been announced as the winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award in the 20th year of The South Bank Sky Arts. Previous winners have included Tracey Emin, J K Rowling and The Who.

The serpentine award designed by artist Polly Morgan will be presented to Izzard this Sunday 5th June at a star-studded ceremony at The Savoy Hotel.

The total amount of money that Eddie Izzard has raised for Sport Relief this year now stands at £2,107,796.

Following the screening of Eddie Izzard: Marathon Man For Sport Relief on BBC2 last night another £300,000 was donated. 


News: Eddie Izzard Finishes His 27 Marathons for Sport Relief

Eddie Izzard has succeeded in running 27 marathons in 27 days in South Africa.

He completed the challenge by running two marathons in the same day and has raised over £1 million for charity.

This was the second time he attempted this goal and was determined to be successful it this time, which meant running a total of more than 700 miles in temperatures of up to 30c. He finished his final run beneath a giant statue of Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg.

News: Eddie Izzard Turns Into Marathon Man Again

Eddie Izzard has announced that he will attempt to complete 27 marathons in 27 days across South Africa for Sport Relief 2016. The challenge will see Eddie aim to run over 700 miles in temperatures of up to 30°C.

The new online BBC Three will exclusively cover Eddie’s journey, from his first marathon on Tuesday 23 February to his last marathon planned for Sunday 20 March.


News: Eddie Izzard & Co Revive One Word Impro Show

Eddie Izzard is reviving the One Word Impro Show that he was a part of twenty years ago for a special gig on February 12.

The show was originally performed at the Albery Theatre. This time the team of Izzard, Neil Mullarkey, Suki Webster and Stephen Frost will be performing in an early evening show at the Palace Theatre at 6pm. It is going to be a busy night for Izzard. Straight after the Impro show he will be performing his solo show at the same venue.

Eddie Izzard has called for people to get the #BigThankYou hashtag trending on social media tonight in support of sport's unsung heroes. He was speaking at the Sports Personality of the Year event in Belfast broadcast on BBC1. The idea is to use the hashtag to thank someone that you think is a grass roots sporting unsung hero.
