News: Eddie Izzard Turns Into Marathon Man Again

Eddie Izzard has announced that he will attempt to complete 27 marathons in 27 days across South Africa for Sport Relief 2016. The challenge will see Eddie aim to run over 700 miles in temperatures of up to 30°C.

The new online BBC Three will exclusively cover Eddie’s journey, from his first marathon on Tuesday 23 February to his last marathon planned for Sunday 20 March.


News: Eddie Izzard & Co Revive One Word Impro Show

Eddie Izzard is reviving the One Word Impro Show that he was a part of twenty years ago for a special gig on February 12.

The show was originally performed at the Albery Theatre. This time the team of Izzard, Neil Mullarkey, Suki Webster and Stephen Frost will be performing in an early evening show at the Palace Theatre at 6pm. It is going to be a busy night for Izzard. Straight after the Impro show he will be performing his solo show at the same venue.

Eddie Izzard has called for people to get the #BigThankYou hashtag trending on social media tonight in support of sport's unsung heroes. He was speaking at the Sports Personality of the Year event in Belfast broadcast on BBC1. The idea is to use the hashtag to thank someone that you think is a grass roots sporting unsung hero. Eddie Izzard has joined the campaign to save up to a 100 flats in Chelsea. The company that runs the estate, Affinity Sutton, wants to demolish them and build new flats, but Izzard’s fear is that the original tenants will be forced out.


News: Extra Tickets For Eddie Izzard's Shelter Show

There are still a few tickets available for the all-star benefit show for Shelter tonight. The gig at the Eventim Apollo is headlined by master of freewheeling stand-up Eddie Izzard.

Izzard is joined on the all-star bill by two members of C4's Last Leg team, Adam Hills and Josh Widdicombe. They will be performing separate stand-up sets, though there has been talk of a live Last Leg tour in the future.

News: Eddie Izzard To Headline Major Shelter Benefit

Eddie Izzard is to headline a one-off benefit for housing and homelessness charity Shelter. Stand up for Shelter will take place on Wednesday, 25 February, 2015 at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith.

The acclaimed superstar will top a bill also featuring Josh Widdicombe, Rob Beckett and Sara Pascoe. Along with other special guests that are still to be announced, the evening will be hosted by Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell, the official radio partner for Stand Up for Shelter.

News: Eddie Izzard Joins Labour Line-Up

Eddie Izzard headlines a fundraiser for the Labour Party on September 21 at Manchester Opera House. The full bill for Stand Up With Labour has now been confirmed. Izzard is to be joined by Phill Jupitus, Ian Stone, Sara Pascoe and host Stephen K Amos. All proceeds from the event will go to the Labour Party.
