News: Comedian Pays For Fan's MOT

We here at Beyond The Joke know what a reticent, publicity-shy figure Daniel Kitson is and how he likes to portray himself as the bullet-proof hard man of stand-up comedy. However a story has come to our attention that we cannot resist passing on, which rather undercuts this image of the self-styled D-Dog.

News: Daniel Kitson Makes One Of His Classic Shows Available To Buy

Update: DK decided to make this available to rent, not buy. Here's his reasoning via his newsletter: "I have decided to put the film of It's Always Right Now Until It's Later on my website. It's available to rent for 72 hours for 3 quid. I initially set the page up as a pre order without (or so i thought) any working link to it on my website and hidden from searches. The idea being that i spend some time considering whether i wanted to release it.

Legendary publicity-shy comedian Daniel Kitson is planning a national tour of the Christmas-themed show he did at the Battersea Arts Centre a few years ago.

News: Daniel Kitson Work In Progress Shows For New Work

Daniel Kitson is doing a series of work-in-progress shows at Battersea Arts Centre.

The run, from October 5 - 24, is a dry run for a new show he is taking to Washington later this year entitled A Short Series of Disagreements Presented Here in Chronological Order. The idea at the moment is that the show takes the form of a story told through a series of disagreements.

This follows his ambitious new show Something Other Than Everything at the Roundhouse and Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre.

The piece prompted considerable debate on social media among other comedians. Here stand-up Paul Sinha expands upon his issues with the article.

News: New Show For Daniel Kitson

Daniel Kitson is to debut a new stand up show at the Roundhouse in London this summer. It is called Something Other Than Everything.

He announced the news in his mail-out and I don't think he is very keen on press quoting his emails (or press in general) so we will simply repeat the official Roundhouse "blurb".
