News: Adam Buxton Announces 2020 Tour

Comedian, writer and podcaster Adam Buxton is heading out on tour in 2020.

To coincide with its publication, Adam Buxton will talk about and read from his upcoming new book on a 23-date UK Tour in May and June 2020. The tour starts on Monday, May 11 at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall and currently ends at Bristol's Tobacco Factory on Friday, June 12.

In David Baddiel's new play God's Dice the lead character talks about infinite parrallel universes. If this is the case then there must be a universe where Joe Wilkinson is the superstar host of an American chat show, just like James Corden is in this universe. And Wilkinson is part of the way there here. There is a definite Gavin and Stacey vibe to three-part comedy The Cockfields, which is set on the Isle of Wight rather than South Wales.

Video: Comedian Adam Bloom Injures Himself Onstage

Stand-up comedy can be a dangerous business sometimes. Particularly when you try to be spontaneous. At a gig recently at Butlin's in Skegness Adam Bloom decided to go into the audience after an incident with a man who pulled his trousers down, but as he was walking off the stage he bumped his head on something hanging above him. Blood immediately started poruing from the wound, but luckily some helpful audience members saved the day - by throwing tampons at him.

Comedians having been paying tribute to legendary Irish chat show host Gay Byrne, who has died aged 85.

Dara O Briain wrote: "Very sad to hear of the death of Gay Byrne. Hard to explain how huge a presence he was in Ireland for 40+ years; a legendary, instinctual broadcaster; that rarest thing, a gifted listener; and an interviewer of huge emotional intelligence. An enormous life."

News: Beat The Frog World Series Results

Evaldas Karosas has won this year's Beat The Frog World Series competition. The Lithuanian stand-up is the winner of the 16th annual competition final at the Frog and Bucket club in Manchester.

The runner up was accountant from Taiwan Kuan-wen Huang and the special panel prize voted for by the comedy industry folk in the room was won by absurdist Toussaint Douglass from Lewisham.
