Ricky Gervais has finished the first draft of the third run of his acclaimed Netflix series After Life.

He posted the news on Twitter with a picture of a copy of the script accompanied by a bottle of Glenfiddich whisky and the words "This calls for a little celebration" – presumably the whisky is the way he is going to celebrate.

Fans of the series were quick to get excited on social media, showing their appreciation with pictures of more bottles of whisky and dancing Gifs.

It will be streamed globally from April 24 and there will be six episodes.

It was a good result for Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. Their BBC4 show Big Night Out won Best Sketch Show and Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing scooped the Best TV Entertainment Show.
