I've got a very large soft spot for Sh!t Theatre, the punky, powerhouse duo of Rebecca Biscuit and Louise Mothersole. I've seen most of their shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, but because they are not always in the comedy programme I've tended to see them at the end of the festival. Two years ago their show DollyWould, their oddball ode to Dolly Parton, was the very last show I saw and I lost my notebook in the theatre.
The multi-talented duo will develop new comedy and comedy drama projects for the UK and international market in an exclusive first look deal over two years.
Entries have now opened for the Amused Moose Comedy’s National New Comic Award. This annual talent search has discovered stars of the future such as previous winners Sarah Millican, Jack Whitehall and Rob Beckett (pictured), with finalists including Josh Widdicombe, Romesh Ranganathan, Jimmy Carr, Katherine Ryan, Kevin Bridges and Greg Davies.
