The results of the Malcolm Hardee Awards 2019 have been announced at a ceremony at the Edinburgh Fringe.
The awards - handed out in the memory of comic, agent, manager, club-owner and prankster Malcolm Hardee - celebrate and promote the spirit of madcap, anything-goes comedy anarchy at the Edinburgh Festival.

The nominations for this year's increasingly prestigious Malcolm Hardee Awards have been announced.
The Malcolm Hardee Awards are handed out in memory of British comic, agent, manager, club-owner and anarchic prankster Malcolm Hardee. Initiated in 2015, the year of Malcolm's death, the awards aim to celebrate and promote the spirit of madcap, anything-goes comedy anarchy that he personified.

Jody VandenBurg, the Director/Filmmaker who is making a film about comic legend Malcolm Hardee entitled All The Way From Over There, is one of the recipients of a £5000 award.
There are 12 recipients of the 2017 John Brabourne Awards, which were set up to help production professionals. The recipients were selected by an industry panel from 157 applicants.

There was no dilemma about choosing a picture to go with this review. While Malcolm Hardee might not have been present – he died ten years ago on January 31, 2005, drowning in his beloved Thames – he was very much there in spirit throughout this show that was both a celebration of his life and fundraiser for the film being made about him directed by Jody Vandenburg and Domenico Favata and written by Naomi De Pear.
