Eddie Izzard has succeeded in running 27 marathons in 27 days in South Africa.
He completed the challenge by running two marathons in the same day and has raised over £1 million for charity.
This was the second time he attempted this goal and was determined to be successful it this time, which meant running a total of more than 700 miles in temperatures of up to 30c. He finished his final run beneath a giant statue of Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg.

Richard Herring is currently raising money through Kickstarter to fund the filming of a new series of As It Occurs To Me. This was the stand-up/sketch show podcast which he previously performed between 2009 and 2011. All the material for each show was written in the week of broadcast, based on things that occurred to Richard, either events from his life or things he'd been thinking about. The cast back then included Dan Tetsell, Emma Kennedy and Christian Reilly.
The Glasgow International Comedy Festival enters its last week and there is still plenty to catch. When I was there last week the city was hotter than Barcelona – a stark contrast to the last time I visited, when I came out of a Ronnie Corbett gig and the snowdrifts were so thick Corbett would have been completely covered. And the comedy this year has been pretty scintillating too, with great gigs already including Romesh Ranganathan and Isy Suttie.

The Edinburgh Fringe’s Assembly venues have put their first batch of tickets on sale.

A run of Talking To Strangers, a live spin-off of the recent R4 series featuring Sally Phillips and Lily Bevan at the George Square Studios.
Daniel Kitson is to perform a new show later this year.
Mouse – The Persistence of an Unlikely Thought will have its world premiere at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool on May 17 and run until May 28.

Steve Coogan has spoken about his desire to do a new another TV chat show as Alan Partridge, though this time with real guests.
His previous TV chat show Knowing Me Knowing You With Alan Partridge featured spoof guests played by performers including Rebecca Front, David Schneider, Doon Mackichan and Patrick Marber.
BBC Two is making a new comedy following the progress of four medical pioneers in Victorian England.
The usual process is that a comedian does a hit show and gets a book deal out of it. Isy Suttie has done things the other way round. She has a hit book, The Actual One, and has now turned it into a hit show.
