News: Richard Herring Kickstarter Campaign Approaches Halfway Stage

Richard Herring is currently raising money through Kickstarter to fund the filming of a new series of As It Occurs To Me. This was the stand-up/sketch show podcast which he previously performed between 2009 and 2011. All the material for each show was written in the week of broadcast, based on things that occurred to Richard, either events from his life or things he'd been thinking about. The cast back then included Dan Tetsell, Emma Kennedy and Christian Reilly.

Herring has currently raised nearly £39,000 and needs to reach a target of £100,000 in the next 17 days. There are various incentives for backers. You can pledge anything from a pound upwards. If you pledge £20, for instance, you will get access to a secret channel and be sent a small badge saying “Yeah, I sure love motorcycling. Motorcycling around. Some people like cycling on a normal bike, but not me. I say why pedal around when you can have a bike that doesn’t need to be pedalled? With all the engine and stuff in it. Rrrrum rrrrrum.” In a font, adds Herring, which will almost certainly be too small to read.

If you pledge £175 he will insult you or the person of your choice in the opening monologue of the show.
