News: Taskmaster New Series – Stars Revealed

The guests in the second series of Taskmaster have been revealed.

Greg Davies and Alex Horne will return as hosts and they will be joined in the Dave series by Jon Richardson, Richard Osman, Joe Wilkinson, Katherine Ryan and Doc Brown. The new series is currently scheduled to start in June.

Stop/Start is the sort of sitcom which would prompt the Daily Mail/Express to say “At last, a BBC sitcom that is actually funny.” Yes, Stop/Start is pretty broad and pretty old fashioned but it is also genuinely funny, thanks to great performances from a quality cast and a script which mostly stays on the acceptable side of politically incorrect old hat.

News: New Album & Big Gig From Nick Helm

Nick Helm is releasing his "surprisingly easy" second album – Nick Helm Is Fucking Amazing. It will be available from April 14. And on the same date he is playing a one-off gig at the forum in Kentish Town, entitled Nick Helm: All Killer Some Filler.

News: Ticket Date for Tim Minchin's Groundhog Day Musical

Tickets for the London run of Groundhog Day, the new musical by Tim Minchin, will go on general sale on Tuesday 12 April at noon.

The show will run at the Old Vic for a strictly limited 10-week season from Monday 11 July – Saturday 17 September 2016 and will be directed by the Old Vic's artistic director, Matthew Warchus.

News: Names Confirmed For Teenage Cancer Trust Night

Update 31/3/16: Stewart Lee, yes, Stewart Lee and Josie Long, yes, Josie Long, have been added to the line-up below.

 

The line-up has been announced for next month's Teenage Cancer Trust comedy night at the Royal Albert Hall.

John Bishop will host the event on 19th April and the bill will also include Seann WalshAlan Carr and Romesh Ranganathan, with more special guests still to be announced.

The BBC has announced a landmark sitcom season to mark 60 years since Galton and Simpson’s Hancock’s Half Hour started on BBC Television. The season of programming across BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Four this summer will celebrate BBC comedy  by revisiting some of Britain’s iconic sitcoms alongside launching new comedy shows.

News: Diet of Worms For Radio 4

Diet of Worms, the Irish sketch group behind BBC4 comedy The Walshes, is making a pilot for Radio 4. 

Kült is about a group of five lowly but loveable Irish employees of a massive global furniture corporation based in Dublin - a modern Nordic company which resembles more of an insane religious sect than a traditional business. 

All this and Adam Buxton is a special guest.

News: Jo Brand Returns To Nursing In New Comedy

Jo Brand is to return as Kim Wilde – her character in Getting On – in Going Forward, a new three-part comedy series that turns the spotlight on domiciliary care, along with the patched-up domestic lives we all lead.

News: Joe Lycett to Record Debut DVD - Tickets & Pre-Order Here

Rising star Joe Lycett is to record his debut stand-up DVD this May, to be released later this year.

The Birmingham comic has just added the filming date to his current That's The Way, A-Ha A-Ha, Joe Lycett tour schedule. There will be two special performances at the Duchess Theatre in London on May 23 at 6.30pm & 9pm. Tickets here.
