The most interesting point Stewart Lee makes in the third episode of his current series, subtitled ‘Patriotism’, comes at the start when he talks about the biggest problem the modern satirist faces. The news is in such flux, says Lee, it is hard to get a handle on it for comedy. And if Lee is having that problem, spare a thought for lesser mortals out there trying to monetize their social commentary.
Dave Cohen has written funny lines for shows as diverse as Have I Got News For You and Not Going Out. But before that he was a successful stand-up comedian. And before that he was a rock critic. And appropriately he is premiering it at the Poetry Cafe in London.

Tim Vine and Darryl Fitton have won the Let's Play Darts For Sport Relief 2016 trophy.
In a tense match at the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green, Vine and Fitton beat Scotty Mitchell and Mike Tindall, going one better than last year when they were beaten finalists, losing to Lee Mack and Martin 'Wolfie' Adams.
It is so hard to write about this excellent comedy thriller without giving something away. Needless to say the final episode in which the loose ends have to be tied up - probably around one of the cast’s necks – is the toughest to discuss. One slip and the game may be given away.
