Peter Kay returns to Manchester O2 Apollo for the first time in over 13 years to host two very special charity shows in one day on July 15. At this brand new Q&A in aid of The Kyle Buckley Fund and The Polly Haydock Appeal the award-winning comedian will discuss his career in comedy and will be showing some exclusive clips and outtakes from his acclaimed shows.

News: Fans Petition Peter Kay to Make More Car Share

Fans of the Peter Kay sitcom Car Share are signing a petition asking the comedian to make more episodes.

The petition, launched by fan Ryan Williams, has attracted nearly 10,000 signatures so far.

The last series only consisted of four episodes and while there were rumours of a Christmas special following the possible romance between John (Kay) and Kayleigh (Sian Gibson). Peter Kay has insisted that there will be no more peisodes and that he wants to quit while he is ahead. 

News: Jason Manford, John Thomson Comment On Manchester Atrocity

Comedians have commented on the atrocity at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.

Jason Manford, who is from Greater Manchester and has five young children, went on Facebook live. He broke down in tears when he said that his children are fans of the singer and if he had known about the concert he might have taken them.

News: Car Share Tops iPlayer Charts

The second series of Peter Kay’s Car Share is BBC iPlayer's biggest comedy of the year so far.

The series came to an end on BBC One last week, but is still available on BBC iPlayer, having been released in full immediately after the first episode aired on 11 April. Figures show that the full series has now exceeded 10.6m requests, a run-away success for BBC iPlayer and the most-requested comedy of 2017.

News: No Christmas Special for Peter Kay's Car Share

Despite rumours circulating on social media today that there would be a Christmas special for Car Share Peter Kay has said that the final episode will be the fourth one which is broadcast on BBC1 at 9pm this evening.

Talking to BBC Radio Manchester Kay said that there will be no series three and no Christmas specials: "There's not going to be a series three"

He added: "You've got to get out while the going's good. No Christmas special, no."

I’m afraid I cracked. I’d seen so many references on social media to the final episode of Car Share from people who had watched it on iPlayer I couldn’t handle the tension any longer. I had to watch it.

I’m not sure whether this should be billed as a preview or a review. At the time of writing the second episode of Peter Kay’s Car Share has not been broadcast, but judging by the Ed Sheeran-style record-breaking success of the four-part series box set on iPlayer I expect a lot of people reading this will have already seen the second episode. And the third and the fourth. I’m still keeping it old school and resisting a binge.

Since Car Share series two premiered on BBC One and the entire series launched on BBC iPlayer the four episodes have occupied the top four slots of requested programmes on BBC iPlayer and amassed over 2.5 million requests in total. Never before have all episodes of one series appeared in the very top slots of iPlayer’s most popular programmes.
