Comedian Richard Stott is making his Edinburgh Fringe debut this summer and he certainly has an original story. Richard was born with Poland Syndrome making him lopsided with a misshapen hand and missing pectoral muscle. Following life-changing surgery he now has toes for fingers on his left hand and in this unflinchingly honest show he examines body image, mental health and being disabled in an image-obsessed world.

News: Flowers Creator Will Sharpe To Direct Film With Benedict Cumberbatch And Claire Foy

WillSharpe, who wrote and starred in the C4 comedy Flowers is to direct and co-write a feature film starring Benedict Cumberbatch And Claire Foy.

Principal photography will commence on Louis Wain in mid-August 2019 shooting in London. The film also stars Andrea Riseborough (Birdman) and Toby Jones (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).

News: All Star Barnardo's Benefit At Edinburgh Fringe

Made in Chelsea star and creator of the hit podcast Private Parts Jamie Laing is to compere a benefit for Barnado's on Wednesday, 7th August at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

The line-up includes comedy favourites Rhys James, Ed Byrne, Milton Jones, David O’Doherty, Tom Rosenthal, London Hughes, Patrick Monahan, Frances Boulle and Jayde Adams.

Four brand new Comedy Shorts have been announced by BBC Comedy Commissioning, promising an eclectic mix of comedy genres, tastes and styles.

This year’s Comedy Shorts are titled: Brain in Gear, Lazy Susan, Mandy and Sorry.

News: New BBC Studios Head Of Comedy Appointed

BBC Studios Productions has appointed Josh Cole as Head of Comedy. Cole will be responsible for leading the BBC Studios Comedy team and overseeing its current comedy slate across TV, radio and online, including the BAFTA award-winning This Country, Famalam and Inside No.9. He will also have responsibility for the development of new, returnable comedy shows, working with the best emerging and established creative talent from around the UK.

News: Darren Star Comedy Younger Comes To Comedy Central UK

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) UK has acquired Darren Star’s comedy Younger for Comedy Central UK from Endemol Shine International. The deal includes all six series of the successful comedy, produced by Viacom’s TV Land in the U.S. The series will air on Comedy Central UK later this year.

Muzlamic is a brand new pilot sketch show exploring life from the perspective of two Muslim comedians, or rather, two comedians who happen to be Muslim.

Written and performed by Ali Shahalom and Aatif Nawaz, the duo’s comic creations include Mabz, an enthusiastic barber from Bethnal Green; a pair of colleagues competing to be the whitest in their office; and a couple of Muslim holidaymakers who have worked out the most efficient way to get through airport security.
