News: Second Series For Ghosts

BBC One has ordered a second series of Ghosts, the top comedy series on UK television so far this year, with a consolidated series average of 3.6m.

The hugely successful house-share sitcom is about a young couple who unexpectedly inherit a grand country estate, only to find it is both falling apart and teeming with the ghosts of former inhabitants.

News: Liverpool And Newcastle Runs For Daniel Kitson

Daniel Kitson is to perform his latest show Keep in Liverpool and Newcastle.

News: Amanda Holden, Emilia Fox & More Join Plebs Cast

Amanda Holden has joined the cast of ITV2’s multi award-winning hit comedy PLEBS, with filming of the fifth series commencing in Bulgaria this week. The series will air on ITV2 in autumn 2019. See below.

Holden will play Rufina, a lusty aristocrat at a banquet, who sets her sights onJason, the gate-crashing pleb (played by the returning Jonathan Pointing), making him her plaything for the evening.

News: Results – LGBT+ New Comedian Of The Year Final

Comedian Charlie George has been crowned the winner of this year's LGBT+ New Comedian Of The Year Final.

The final took place at Comedy Bloomers at the Seven Dials Club in Covent Garden and the judges were Jordan Gray, David Morgan and Helen Lederer.

News: Butterflies Actor Andrew Hall Dies

Actor Andrew Hall, who played Russell, the son of Wendy Craig and Geoffrey Palmer in the classic BBC sitcom Butterflies, has died. He was 65.

Hall was also in Eastenders, Brookside, Hollyoaks and Casualty and played Marc Selby in Coronation Street.

He was in Butterflies, which was written by Carla Lane, from 1978 to 1983.

News: More Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out For BBC Four

Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer are making a second series of Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out for BBC Four. 

Bob will once again preside over the Wheel of Justice and Novelty Island will be back. There will also be the return of hit sketches The Free Runners and Mostly UnHaunted alongside a host of new characters and guest stars.

The legendary comedy duo will be joined once again by hapless Vaun (Vaun Earl Norman).

News: BBC To Air Animated Putin Chat Show

The BBC is to broadcast a brand new comedy chat show fronted by a computer-generated version of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Two 12-minute episodes of Tonight wth Vladimir Putin will be broadcast on BBC Two back-to-back from 11pm on June 23. 

The guests will include Alastair Campbell, June Sarpong, Deborah Frances-White and Joe Swash.

News: Comedy Store London Celebrates 40th Birthday With All-Star Gig

The Comedy Store in London marked its fortieth birthday last night with a party at the Cafe De Paris. But before that there was the small matter of an enormous gig at the Piccadilly Circus venue in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and celebrating the club's founder Don Ward, without whom the comedy scene in the UK would be very different - in fact it might not even exist. 

News: Ardal O'Hanlon Is Back In New Death In Paradise

Filming of Death In Paradise series nine is underway in Guadeloupe with Ardal O’Hanlon reprising his role as lead detective DI Jack Mooney.

Tobi Bakare (Officer JP Hooper), Shyko Amos (Officer Ruby Patterson), Don Warrington (Commissioner Selwyn Patterson) and Elizabeth Bourgine (Catherine Bordey) also return alongside new series regular Aude Legastelois (DS Madeleine Dumas).

Marcus Brigstocke is to make his Edinburgh Fringe debut as a director. In Red, originally commissioned for BBC Radio 4, Brigstocke writes and directs a bittersweet drama of family and addiction, based on his own recovery.
