UKTV’s comedy channel, Dave, is taking over a commercial ad break and will use the time for the first ever ‘Comedy Festival in an Ad Break’ as part of its partnership with the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a leading movement against suicide, which remains the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.

Rising star and wheelchair enthusiast Aaron Simmonds is making his Edinburgh Fringe debut with his new show Disabled Coconut. The Jewish Comedian of the Year 2017 and 2017 BBC New Comedy Award finalist promises to tell audiences about how his first paid gig led to him performing on BBC2 a year later, and the events that led to him being trolled online for not being disabled enough.
Entries are invited for the 2020 New Acts of the Year Competition. For the second year running the final will be back at its original venue, the Hackney Empire, where it started out over thirty years ago.
It will take place on 14th March 2020.
A short clip of the spoof African dictator character played by Sliced/Famalam star Samson Kayo has been released.
The character, who is set to front a pilot entitled The Colonel Banjoko show, is at the centre of a complaint from stand-up comedian Benjamin Bankole Bello, who has been doing a spoof African dictator character called President Obonjo on the live comedy circuit for a decade.
