News: BBC Studios Production Comedy Team Signs Exclusive Deal With Inside No. 9's Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton
BBC Studios Production Comedy team, creators of some of the best loved comedies, has signed an exclusive deal with BAFTA and RTS award winning Inside No 9 creators, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton.

The multi-talented duo will develop new comedy and comedy drama projects for the UK and international market in an exclusive first look deal over two years.

Josh Cole, Head of Comedy BBC Studios Production says: “Reece and Steve are two of the most extraordinarily talented and distinctive creators working today. Their gift for comic storytelling knows no bounds and we’re hugely excited to be developing new projects with them. We're incredibly proud of the uniquely brilliant shows they have made with BBC Studios, and are delighted to build upon the long standing relationship we have with them."

Reece and Steve said; “We are delighted to continue working under the umbrella of BBC Studios. As a large and colourful umbrella it affords us the creative freedom to develop new and exciting ideas to shape the future of international television and keeps our skin from burning on hot days. And now that it's raining more than ever, know that we still have each other.”

Steve Pemberton is the award-winning co-creator and star of The League of Gentlemen, Psychoville and Inside No. 9. As an actor, Pemberton’s recent credits include Killing Eve, Britannia, The Interrogation of Tony Martin, Whitechapel and Happy Valley. He also adapted Mapp and Lucia - the widely-acclaimed BBC mini-series - from the novels of E F Benson.

Reece Shearsmith is an actor, writer, and comedian. With Mark Gatiss, Jeremy Dyson and Steve Pemberton he created, wrote and acted in the multi-award winning The League of Gentlemen. He has also starred in numerous other TV comedies, including "Car Share" alongside Peter Kay, "Mid Morning Matters" with Steve Coogan, "Catterick" with Reeves and Mortimer and "Spaced" with Simon Pegg. As well as writing "Inside No.9", Reece also starred in "Psychoville", which he co-wrote with Pemberton and ran for two series and a Halloween Special.
