Edinburgh Fringe Review 2019 – Round-Up Featuring Seann Walsh, Phil Wang, Jen Brister, George Egg, Tom Rosenthal, Carl Donnelly & More

So many shows, so little time. Well actually so many shows, quite a lot of time. But still not long enough to do more than scratch the surface of comedy at the Fringe. I was at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019 for 23 days. And saw 91 shows. Not quite the most I’ve seen in a Fringe stint, but it may have been more. Some were free gigs with no tickets so I may not have made a note of them.

Interview: Phil Wang On The New Series Of Taskmaster

Did you enjoy taking part in Taskmaster?

I enjoyed parts of it. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed a lot of tasks. Driving to that house every day felt a bit like going to an exam you hadn’t prepared for, but it turns out to be a fun exam. Like a maths exam. But also, it’s forced me to reconsider elements of myself that I hadn’t really counted on taking back into consideration.

Edinburgh Fringe Review: Phil Wang, Pleasance Courtyard

I hadn’t seen Phil Wang live for a few years and I didn’t have much inclination to see him this year. The last time I saw him I thought he was pretty childish and immature, but decided to give him another shot. I don’t know what has happened in the last few years but in Kinabalu the boy has become a man. Well, I guess I do know what happened. He is 27 – three years older and three years more mature.
