Latitude Review: Josh Widdicombe

….No pressure on Widdicombe then, who thanks to being landed in it by James Acaster was clearly prepared to finish the comedy for the day by kissing a man with a burnt foot. Luckily for Widdicombe it turned out that the man had left. No doubt to hassle various bands on the music stages.

TV Review, Mock The Week, BBC2

I didn’t even know that Mock The Week was back last night. Or even that it had gone away. I must be watching too many reruns on Dave. But according to the BBC this was the first episode of the fifteenth, yes fifteenth, series, helmed, as ever by smiling Dara O Briain.

TV Preview: Josh, BBC3

A flatshare sitcom about two dysfunctional blokes who seem incapable of growing up? Peep Show? No, we are talking about Josh, which by one of those quirks of scheduling starts its first series on BBC3 next Wednesday just as the first episode of the final series of Peep Show ends on C4. But flip channels and stick around, if you like one the chances are you will like the other.

TV Review: Taskmaster, Dave

I don’t think Taskmaster is the first Edinburgh Fringe show to turn into a TV panel game but I’m pretty sure it is the first Edinburgh Fringe show that I’ve taken part in that ended up as a panel game. A few years ago Alex Horne invited me to join the team. At that time the show lasted an entire year - each month we were given a different task and only found out how we’d done when the results were revealed onstage in Edinburgh. Needless to say, I lost.
