The Henley Festival 2022 – the UK’s most glamorous boutique black-tie festival – returns for five spectacular summer nights from Wednesday 6 – Sunday 10 July, celebrating 40 years of music, comedy, art, dancing, gastronomy, fireworks and magical moments along the green banks of the Thames.
Set to be its biggest year yet, Henley Festival’s stellar reputation for comedy continues.
I wouldn't say I was there right at the start of Adam Kay's This Is Going to Hurt journey, but I did review his show at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival in 2017 where he talked about his experiences as a junior hospital registrar between pithy pop parodies.
Award-winning writer and comedian Adam Kay has announced This Is Going to Hurt…More. Kay’s biggest UK tour to date begins at Edinburgh Usher Hall on 7th September and culminates at London SSE Arena Wembley on 24th September.
This is Going to Hurt…More sees Adam Kay share entries from his phenomenally popular diaries as a junior doctor in an evening of stand-up and music. This live comedy show will also feature brand-new stories from his forthcoming book Undoctored: The Story of a Medic Who Ran Out of Patients.
Typical. You wait ages for a series called Starstruck and then two come along in the same week. On Saturday Jason Manford hosts a new ITV entertainment show which has been described as a rebooted Stars In Their Eyes, but first comes Rose Matafeo's winning romcom sitcom – and Matafeo definitely came first, this is the second series.
No shortage of comedians on television tonight, even if most of them are making guest appearances on panel shows rather than doing stand-up.
First up is Would I Lie To You? at 8.30pm on BBC One. The guests joining Rob Brydon, David Mitchell and Lee Mack tonight are Pam Ayres, Sarah Kendall, Richard Osman and Kiell Smith-Bynoe from Ghosts and Stath Lets Flats (and he also pops up in new sketch show Lazy Susan).
Watch the official trailer for the second series of Starstruck, written by Rose Matafeo and Alice Snedden and starring Rose Matafeo. The new series starts on BBC Three’s new broadcast channel at 10pm on Monday 7th February, with the entire box set released on BBC iPlayer.
Not to be confused with the new ITV1 talent show fronted by Jason Manford with the same name that sounds like a reboot of Stars In Their Eyes that alsp starts next week.
