The Ricky Gervais Netflix series After Life, Derry Girls, Catastrophe are among those on the shortlist for Edinburgh TV Awards. The winners will be announced at an event on on Thursday 22nd August hosted by stand-up comedian Mo Gilligan, who is nominated for a Breakthrough Talent award himself.
Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee Glenn Moore has announced his first nationwide tour. It starts on 20th September at Colechester Arts Centre and runs until 23rd January 2020 at the Salford Lowry.

I've read in various advance publicity interviews for Year of the Rabbit that its star Matt Berry calls it "The Sweeney but in Victorian times." Thanks for doing my review for me Matt. I didn't realise quote how literal he was being. OK, there's no "get yer clothes on you're nicked" but then I'm not sure if that actual often-quoted line ever appeared in the old John Thaw cop show anyway. Oh, and there are more laughs here. Daliso Chaponda has announced a UK tour starting in 2019 and taking in 36 dates after premiering at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The tour entitled ‘Blah Blah Blacklist’ starts on 19th September at Darwen’s Library Theatre and culminates on 15th March at Salford’s Lowry.
The winner of the first Big Funny Fest’s Dad joke competition has been revealed. Judges Mark Dolan and Hal Cruttenden came up with the shortlist of 10 of the corniest Dad gags submitted and proclaimed one the outright winner.
