News: Steve Martin And Martin Short Confirm New London Shows

Steve Martin & Martin Short have announced the rescheduled London dates for their tour entitled ‘The Funniest Show In Town…At The Moment’ . The shows that were due to take place at The Royal Albert Hall on 14th & 15th March 2020 have been rescheduled and will now take place on 27th & 28th September 2021.

All tickets purchased for the original date remain valid. Customers are advised to retain their tickets and ticket confirmations at this time.

The first thing that gig-less comedians did after lockdown was put live shows online. The second was launch a podcast. But television hasn’t been far behind, using the format of quickfire, viral-friendly sketches filmed at home and observing social distancing. The BBC launches their rapid response series Comedians: Home Alone on BBC Two on June 1 at 10.15pm, but they have been pipped at the post by E4’s Remote Comedy From the Paddock.

News: Major Edinburgh Fringe Venues Ask For Financial Help

Major venues at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival have written to the Scottish Parliament warning that their future is at stake in the light of the pandemic crisis and the cancellation of the 2020 Fringe.

In the letter 'the big four' – Assembly, Underbelly, Gilded Balloon and Pleasance – have said that they are struggling due to a lack of any financial support. They told MSPs that most of them have been unable to access any financial aid during the Covid-19 crisis.

News: Bob Mortimer's Train Guy Pulls Into The BBC

Bob Mortimer's online character Train Guy is coming to the BBC.

He is one of the characters in the new lockdown series Comedians: Home Alone, which starts on BBC Two on June 1 at 10.15pm. 

Mortimer's clips of his over-sharing "Yah yah, for sure, you are as always, ciao, Col" commuter, often talking loudly and annoyingly about his business partner Geoff Linton, have become a massive hit on social media, regularly notching up millions of views. In this new show his character appears in animated form.

The two Comedy Store drive-in shows in Henley which went on sale on Friday morning have already sold out, making them the first live drive in shows in the country to sell out. A further two shows in Henley have been added on Friday 10th July. Tickets are on sale now at the link below.

Al Murray, Seann Walsh, Matt Forde, Susie McCabe, Darius Davies, Paul McCaffrey and Phil Ellis are lined up for the latest live streamed stand-up show from comedy club Just The Tonic.

The club's second show will be compered by JTT's Darrell Martin and will be streamed live on Saturday 30 May from 8.30pm (gig starts at 9pm) via Just the Tonic TV.
