Mark Rylance is to play the lead role in a comedy about golf written by comedian/actor Simon Farnaby.
Rylance will play Maurice Flitcroft in The Fantastic Flitcrofts, which tells the story of a golfer who qualified for the 1976 British Open Golf Championship and then shot the worst round in Open history, making him a folk hero.
Channel 4 has ordered a second series of The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan. The series, co-produced by Expectation and Gilligan’s production company Momo G, will return to Channel 4 next year. The news comes hot on the heels of Gilligan’s Bafta TV nomination for the first run, picking up a nod in the Entertainment Performance category, as well as his recent lockdown series Mo Gilligan’s All Star Happy Hour.

The Scottish Government has agreed a funding package for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, the charity that underpins the world-famous Fringe Festival.
