Joe Lycett

Interview: Joe Lycett

The phrase ‘bigger and better’ might have been coined specifically for Joe Lycett’s new touring show. Hitting the road with I’m About To Lose Control And I Think Joe Lycett (more on that punning title in a minute), the Birmingham-born, bred and based-comic is taking a brand new set of observations, set pieces and gags to larger venues than he’s appeared in previously on his solo tours. Not that he’s especially fazed by any of it.

TV Review: Would I Lie To You?, BBC1

Maybe I was out when the trumpets were blowing but it seemed to me that Would I Lie To You? slipped back onto BBC1 on Friday night for its ninth, yes, ninth, series without much of a fanfare. Which is a shame. This is one of my favourite panel shows. It is devoid of cynicism, packed full of laughs. It's one of the few panel shows clean enough to go out pre-watershed, but it is never, ever boring.
