Review, Uncle, BBC3, Episode 4

I have a confession to make. I'd slightly gone off Uncle this time round, which is why my reviews have been running late. Watching it – previously so much fun – had started to feel like a chore and I wondered where the plot as going. But I take it all back. I was rather blown away by this latest episode.

Review: Uncle, BBC3, Episode 3

There is lots going on in the third episode of the final series of Uncle. Things seem to be looking up for the music career of Andy (Nick Helm). What’s Uncle about?

Uncle is an unconventional family sitcom. The first series was about a suicidal, estranged uncle who gets reunited with his nephew. The first episode finds him reflecting on whether his life if about to undergo a seismic shift that will mean that he has to accept some real responsibilities.

I knew Uncle was returning, but it seems to have sneaked into the schedules without as much hoo-ha as the first series. The timing could not be better though. Last week the hit sitcom starring Nick Helm as dissolute uncle Andy to nephew Errol (Elliot Speller-Gillott) won Best Multichannel Programme at the Broadcast Awards.
