News: Jeremy Hardy Tribute Gig Rescheduled

The night of comedy to commemorate the genius of Jeremy Hardy has been moved to Wednesday, 26th Jan 2022 at the Eventim Apollo.

Mark Steel, Jack Dee, Harry Enfield, Miles Jupp, Angela Barnes, Imran Yusuf, Seann Walsh and Shappi Khorsandi plus others will celebrate one of the most hilarious and influential comedians of the past three decades.

Report: Jeremy Hardy's Memorial Service

Friends and family of Jeremy Hardy gathered to celebrate his life on Monday 13th May at the Battersea Arts Centre. This piece below wasn't written by me. Comedian Jeremy Hardy has been been remembered at a private memorial held in south London. 

Hardy died in February this year, aged 57.

The event was held in the Grand Hall at Battersea Arts Centre a few miles from where Hardy lived for much of his adult life.

Tributes have been paid to comedian Jeremy Hardy, who has died aged 57.

Hardy was a leading light of 1980s alternative comedy, part of the second wave of stand-ups who emerged with a determination to be non-racist and non-sexist, alongside comedians including Jo Brand, Julian Clary, Mark Thomas, Mark Steel, Arthur Smith and Jack Dee. He was one of the first stand-ups to win the Perrier Award, picking up the prize at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1988.

Comedian Jeremy Hardy has died. He was 57.

His friend and publicist Amanda Emery issued the following statement: "Friends and family of comedian Jeremy Hardy, are immensely sad to announce that Jeremy died of cancer, early on Friday 1st February. He was with his wife and daughter as he died.

He retained to the end the principles that guided his life; trying to make the world more humane, and to be wonderfully funny. He will be enormously missed by so many, who were inspired by him and who laughed with him.


News: Kitson, Thomas, Long, Hardy, Yusuf, Prowse Play Grenfell Benefit

Daniel Kitson, Mark Thomas, Josie Long, Jeremy Hardy, Imran Yusuf and Haydon Prowse are to play a fundraising gig in aid of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

The one-off show will take place at Battersea Arts Centre next Monday, June 19. More acts are to be confirmed.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Grenfell Tower Appeal, coordinated by the Kensington & Chelsea Foundation.
