Review: Latitude 2018 – Jayde Adams

It can't be easy to be the first stand-up act of the day in the Latitude Comedy Tent, but if anyone can pull it off it's Jayde Adams. The Bristol comic is no slow-burn, shy, retiring performer. She is more of a force of nature, pounding the audience into submission. Sporting flaming red hair and a trouser suit that by her own admission made her resemble a cross between Adele and the Riddler she was hard to ignore.

TV Review: Comedians In Pubs Talking Comedy, BBC Three

We all love comedians chatting off-duty, that’s why Jerry Seinfield’s Comedians In Cars series and Alan Davies As Yet Untitled do so well. and now BBC Three has got in on the act with the low-budget, lo-fi but big-on-laughs Romesh: Comedians In Pubs Talking Comedy.

Live Review, Live at the Chapel with James Acaster, Kevin Eldon, Jayde Adams, Carl Donnelly, John Robins

When the pioneering Invisible Dot organisation closed down in 2016 there was a fear that the regular Union Chapel gigs promoted by ID might come to an end too. Briggs is clearly a shrewd man, even if last night’s compere John Robins described him as looking like a stoner out of Point Break.

News: Britain's Funniest Woman Misses Out On Adele Show

Comedian Jayde Adams is kicking herself today because she missed out on the chance of meeting Adele.

The Funny Women 2014 champion, dubbed “Britain’s Funniest Woman Comic” by the Daily Mail, had been due to take part in what she understood to be a new reality TV show which featured Adele lookalikes. But having prepared for her performance at the Wimbledon Theatre she was asked to sign a contract waiving her “moral rights”. Adams decided that she didn't want to do this and left the recording.

Review: Malcolm Hardee 10 Years On, Up The Creek

There was no dilemma about choosing a picture to go with this review. While Malcolm Hardee might not have been present – he died ten years ago on January 31, 2005, drowning in his beloved Thames – he was very much there in spirit throughout this show that was both a celebration of his life and fundraiser for the film being made about him directed by Jody Vandenburg and Domenico Favata and written by Naomi De Pear.
