News: Britain's Funniest Woman Misses Out On Adele Show

Jayde Adams

Comedian Jayde Adams is kicking herself today because she missed out on the chance of meeting Adele.

The Funny Women 2014 champion, dubbed “Britain’s Funniest Woman Comic” by the Daily Mail, had been due to take part in what she understood to be a new reality TV show which featured Adele lookalikes. But having prepared for her performance at the Wimbledon Theatre she was asked to sign a contract waiving her “moral rights”. Adams decided that she didn't want to do this and left the recording.

It was only last night when Adams watched the TV special Adele At The BBC on BBC1 that she realised that she would have been filmed for a top secret sketch in which the superstar singer donned a false nose and wig and called herself Jenny and auditioned for a job alongside other Adele lookalikes. If Adams had appeared she would have had her first mainstream exposure. Not just in the UK but around the world as the programme is being sold globally.

Posting on Twitter Adams said: "I'M A FUCKING PRICK" (her capitals).

The YouTube clip of the sketch has already clocked up over a million views. Watch the clip of Adele lookalikes here.
