Leicester Square Theatre Sketch Off Competition Results

The annual Sketch Off competition final took place on Sunday night at the Leiecester Square Theatre. Following a series of heats 12 acts took part in the show, compered by Sam Nicoresti.

And the results are as follows.

In first place was Sam Eley as Basil Crumbwick.

In second place was Luke Nixon as Jim Midge.

In third place was Nikola McMurtrie.

Leicester Comedy Festival Comedian Of the Year – Results

Louise Atkinson has won Leicester Comedy Festival’s Comedian of the Year 2025 award.

Louise, originally from Hull, performs regularly at the UK's top comedy clubs and has supported acts such as Sarah Keyworth and Esther Manito on tour. Louise's debut show, Mates, was a success at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Live Review: Komedia New Comedy Award, Komedia, Brighton

This year's Komedia New Comedy Award final got off to a great start. I was one of the judges and when I arrived our table was groaning with chicken pieces, halloumi fries, chips. Definitely how to win over a journalist's heart – if you don't stop it beating first. After this though things did go slightly downhill until victory was snatched from the jaws of defeat by some of the stronger, later acts.

Komedia New Comedy Award - Results

The final has taken place of this year's Komedia New Comedy Award in association with Comic Boom comedy club and Arts Journalist Victoria Nangle,

Nine new acts competed for the trophy in the show that took place at Komedia in Brighton.

The winner is Sydney May. Runners up: (in alphabetical order) are Aiden Lonergan and Wes Defoe.

Sydney May receives a bespoke award, a spot at Comic Boom comedy club at Komedia, and a bottle of fizz.
