News: Festival Fun For Joe Thomas, Jemaine Clement, Claudia O'Doherty

The award winning creators of The Inbetweeners, writers and executive producers Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, are behind a new comedy film starring Joe Thomas, Claudia O'Doherty, Jemaine Clement, Hannah Tointon and Hammed Animashaun.

The Festival is the first comedy feature film release from production company Fudge Park formed by Morris and Beesley and will be released in cinemas on 17th August across the UK and Ireland. It is directed by Iain Morris and written by Keith Akushie.

Claudia O'Doherty's shows are certainly different. Last year's Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated show The Telescope played around with the time-space continuum and featured O'Doherty in various guises onscreen and onstage. This time she is even more revolutionary. She performs large chunks of Pioneer from behind a transparent screen on which words and slogans are projected.

I'm usually reluctant to give the opposition the oxygen of publicity, but this week Time Out's comedy section has done a nice round-up of the Edinburgh Fringe's work-in-progress shows coming up in London.
