Frank Skinner Cancels Edinburgh Fringe Run

Frank Skinner has cancelled his Edinburgh Festival Fringe run due to a "family health issue".

Sky has reported that a spokesperson for the star said on Wednesday that the much anticipated new show, 30 Years Of Dirt, would not now be happening.

Italian comic Luca Cupani has won plenty of fans for his hilarious confessional style, since first stumbling into the Edinburgh Fringe as a visitor in 2014.

He won the Gilded Balloon contest for new comics So You Think You’re Funny? in 2015 and has since been invited to the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and San Francisco International Comedy Competition.

Biggest Edinburgh Fringe Trophy Announced

A new competition by NextUp (‘the Netflix of UK stand-up’) has launched to find the best comedy show at the Edinburgh Fringe. The winner receives what is undeniably the BIGGEST award in comedy ever. 

The winning act will receive a 2 metre inflatable trophy (literally the biggest award in comedy):

Yorkshire Comedy Awards Results

The first-ever Yorkshire Comedy Awards took place on Sunday night. The event was held at Mill Valley Brewery, Cleckheaton.
 
Nominations were taken initially via the Yorkshire Comedy Forum, the top nominees were then voted for online via an online multiple choice survey open to comedy industry.

Equity To Launch Comedians' Charter And Ask Fringe Society For Compensation Over Axed App

Performers union Equity is to launch a new Comedians’ Charter at the Fringe, comprising a set of standards for venues and promoters to sign up to, ensuring the safety and fair treatment of comedians. These include policies on pay transparency and late-night safety. The launch will take place at a to-be-announced comedy venue in Edinburgh on Sunday 7 August.

The Last Leg Guests This Week – Rylan Clark And Jess Phillips

There's a prettty good chance The Last Leg will be discussing the Commonwealth Games this week. And I would also imagine the Women's Euros will get a look in too as England play Germany in the final on Sunday after their brilliant victory in the semi-final against Sweden.

The show, fronted by Josh Widdicombe, Alex Brooker and Adam Hills, started off with a sporting agenda a decade ago, but tonight there will probably be a political agenda too. One of the guests is outspoken Labour MP Jess Phillips.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe: Tickets For 146 More Shows Made Available

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society has announced that tickets for a further 146 Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows are now available to browse and book at edfringe.com.

This is the fifth set of tickets to be released for 2022, with the first 283 shows revealed in March, 796 in April, 1,281 in May and 1,047 in June.  In total, there are 3,385 shows now available.
