Live Review: Daniel Sloss, Palladium

The sign outside the London Palladium with the big picture of Daniel Sloss on it says "as seen on Netflix". The 28-year-old stand-up has been getting increasingly popular in recent years but last autumn the streaming network put out two of his shows, Dark and Jigsaw, and since then he has gone stellar. These two Palladium dates were added to his UK tour to meet demand and in America he has just added nearly thirty more live shows to his busy Stateside schedule.

News: Jeremy Hardy Remembered At Memorial Event

Comedian Jeremy Hardy has been been remembered at a private memorial held in south London. 

Hardy died in February this year, aged 57.

The event was held in the Grand Hall at Battersea Arts Centre a few miles from where Hardy lived for much of his adult life.

The legendary Sir Lenny Henry will embark on a brand new UK tour this autumn.  Following the October publication of his memoir, Lenny will travel the length, breadth and width of the country with An Evening with Lenny Henry - Who Am I, Again?, opening in Birmingham on 20 October. News: Bafta TV Awards – All The Winners As They Are Announced

The BAFTA TV Awards are taking place with a lot of top comedy names in the running for honours. Here are the winners as and when they are announced.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Andrew Scott prsented the award for Best Mini-Series. And the winner is Patrick Melrose, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

The second award, for Best Comedy Entertainent Programme, was presented by David Schwimmer and went to Sky's A League of Their Own.

Best Supporting Actor went to Ben Whishaw for his performance in A Very British Scandal.

The finalists have been announced for this year's Not So New Comedian of the Year Final. This is the competition formerly known as the Old Comedian of the Year. 

The final takes place at the Leicester Square Theatre on Wednesday, May 15.

Yorkshire’s most prestigious comedy competition is back for a fifth year and registration is now open for anyone who thinks they’re funny enough to be crowned Great Yorkshire Fringe New Comedian of the Year 2019.

News: Have I Got News For You Pulled By BBC

The latest edition of Have I Got News For You was pulled from the schedules by the BBC before broadcast on Friday night.

The episode had been filmed by the makers, Hat Trick Productions, on Thursday evening, with jo Brand hosting, but then a decision was taken that the programme could not go out in the run-up to the European Elections because one of the panellists was Change UK acting leader MP Heidi Allen.

Doctor-turned-comedian-turned-million-selling-author Adam Kay has announced a third West End run for This Is Going To Hurt  (Secret Diaries Of A Junior Doctor) LIVE. The new dates are at the Vaudeville Theatre, London from 1 – 6 July and 8 – 13 July. These are in addition to upcoming dates at the Garrick Theatre.
