News: Line-Up Revealed For Filming Of Comedians at the Kings At The Glasgow Comedy Festival

The line-up has been revealed for The Comedians at the Kings. The two nights of gigs at the Kings Theatre in Glasgow as part of the Glasgow Comedy Festival will be a showcase for experienced comedians who do not regularly feature on mainstream television at the moment (though some names should certainly be familiar from television). The shows, the brainchild of award-winning London stand-up John Moloney, are going to be filmed with a view to screening them on television at a later date.


News: Filming Dates Confirmed For New Stand-Up Comedy Show

Filming dates have been confirmed for a new show featuring stand-up comedy sets from comedians who are over fifty years old.

The Comedians Live at The King's will be shot over two nights at the King's Theatre in Glasgow on March 20 & 21 next year. 

The plan is for 24 comedians to film 10-minute sets each which will then be turned into eight 30-minute broadcast-ready TV programmes which will then be offered to networks.

Comedian John Moloney returns to the comedy airwaves of BBC Radio 4 on Wednesday 23 August at 11pm with the second series of The John Moloney Show. The first episode of the new 4-part series, which will air weekly, is titled Edward Goes To The Vet. John’s erstwhile cat Edward was first introduced to listeners when the award-winning comic made his Radio 4 debut in 2015 with the critically acclaimed

Update 30/10: I've spoken to John Moloney since he announced his plans below and he is blown away by the positive response. He has had messages of support from comics all over the world who have come up against ageism in their country and even more fabulously, someone who wants to remain anonymous has told John they will stump up the requisite grand for comics taking part who don't have that sort of money knocking about...

News: Radio Series For John Moloney

John Moloney, award-winning comedian and co-producer of London’s annual Balham Comedy Festival, will make his Radio 4 programme debut in May with The John Moloney Show.  The four-part series, recorded in front of a live audience at The Stand in Edinburgh, is produced by Dabster Productions.  The first programme will be broadcast on Tuesday, 12th May at 11pm.


News: Al Murray Tops Benefit Bill

Al Murray headlines a one-off benefit gig at the Comedy Store on Monday, November 3 organised by John Moloney (pictured) and The Comedy Store. Murray's Pub Landlord is joined by Wayne Deakin, Zoe Lyons, Alistair Barrie, Fred Macaulay and The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Review. John Moloney will be the compere. 

Preview: The Week Ahead Dec 30 - Jan 5

As the final week of 2013 turns into the first week of 2014 the comedy circuit rolls on. While comedians pepper Twitter and Facebook with memories of traumatic, riotous pre-Christmas gigs that they have conquered/survived, the brave ones still standing are now gearing up for their New Year's Eve bookings. There are plenty to choose from, all over London. Some run until midnight and the price includes a buffet. Some run late and include a post-gig disco.
