News: Election Special for The News Quiz

Miles Jupp is to host a General Election special of The News Quiz on Friday 9 June at 6.30pm. The show is usually recorded on Thursday evenings, but this episode will be recorded just hours before broadcast on Friday lunchtime, allowing Jupp and the panel to be able to comment on the General Election results.

Miles Jupp has announced a major one-off date at the London Palladium as part of his Songs of Freedom UK tour. He will perform at the prestigious theatre on February 25 next year. Tickets go on sale for the show at 10am today.

Comedian Miles Jupp has announced a major new UK tour for 2016 and 2017. The Songs Of Freedom tour starts at Milton Keynes Stables on September 7.

In his new show the host of The News Quiz will be tackling "Astronauts. Regrets. The sexes. Social Media. Hipsters. Poo. Rage. Medicine. Manners. Identity. Lost stuff. Other stuff."

News: Catherine Tate Returns to TV In New Comedy

Catherine Tate is to return to TV. She will star in a new one-off comedy being made for Gold entitled Do Not Disturb set in a boutique hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Tate will be joined by Miles Jupp and Car Share’s Sian Gibson. Do Not Disturb is due to  be broadcast from January 2016. It focuses on estranged husband and wife Anna (Tate) and John (Jupp), who attempt reconciliation talks after her extra marital affair with a much younger man.

TV Review: In & Out Of The Kitchen, BBC4

Miles Jupp’s radio comedy In And Out Of The Kitchen did so well a TV version was made. That was about a year ago and since then it seems to have sat on the shelf. It finally starts this week, which makes one wonder what caused the delay. Had the recipe gone off in the transfer from audio to video? Will it now seem a little stale?

News: Kate Lucas Wins Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year

Musical comedian Kate Lucas has won this year's hotly contested Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year competition. The final was held this evening (Saturday) at the Y Theatre as part of Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival. Lucas wins £1000 and a bottle of champagane and, according to host Rob Rouse, the Sainsburys bag it came in. Phil Jerrod was second and Mark Silcox was third.

Preview: The Week Ahead Feb 10 - 16

This is a week when the supporting players take centre stage. Fans of C4's Man Down may recognise Mike Wozniak as Greg Davies' hapless accountant chum. Wozniak played a kind of straight man as the lunacy went on all around him in the sitcom, but he allows a little more lunacy into his stand-up set, which has a nice line in offbeat stories.
