News: Angel Comedy Club Expands Weekend Line-Up And Unveils New Artwork And New Beer

Angel Comedy, the world’s first crowdfunded comedy club, is meeting popular demand with new events and free shows at The Bill Murray pub in Islington.

 

Owned and run by working comedians, The Bill Murray is extending its Saturday line-up with performances at 5pm, 7pm, 9pm and 11pm - including the flagship “Pro Shows”, where all tickets are free and offered first-come, first-served.

News: New Comedy Club Opens In North London

The Angel Comedy Club has opened its new permanent venue, taking over a pub in Islington. The pub, formerly the Mucky Pup but renamed The Bill Murray, is at 39 Queen’s Head St, N1. The launch was marked with a night of comedy from Nish Kumar, Tony Law, Tom Rosenthal, Yuriko Kotani, Jamali Maddix and Jarred Christmas, hosted by Angel Comedy’s resident MC Barry Ferns.

Will Franken has won Best Performer in the inaugural Barry Awards, the new prize for Fringe performers voted for by Fringe performers. Bec Hill, who set out to write an award-winning show after she drunkenly told the Superman actor Dean Cain that she was an award winner, won the award for Best Show*And Peter Buckley Hill and Bob Slayer tied for the award for Best Person.  Here is a full list of the results, plus quotes from the winners.
