Joe Lycett Comes Clean About David Beckham Money Shredding

Joe Lycett has revealed the truth about whether he shredded £10k of his own money on Sunday after failing to persuade David Beckham to pull out of his lucrative Qatar deal.

In a social media post Lycett explained what he did: “This is my final message to David Beckham. It’s me! That prick who shredded loads of money in a cost of living crisis. So, where we? Or did I? I haven’t quite told you the whole truth.”

Mrs Doubtfire Comes To London

Comedy musical Mrs. Doubtfire, based on the iconic movie, will open in the West End next Summer.

Having thrilled audiences at its UK premiere in Manchester earlier this year, the London production will begin performances at the newly refurbished Shaftesbury Theatre from Friday 12 May 2023, with a Press Night on Thursday 22 June.

Launch Date Announced for Glasgow Comedy Club

The Glasgow Comedy Club, backed by the team behind Max's Bar and Room 2, has announced its launch date and teased some exciting plans ahead of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival. 

Set in the room played by Kevin Bridges & Susie McCabe in recent years, Max's Basement, the club is set to launch on Wednesday 30th November hosted by resident MC and Scottish Compere of the Year, Billy Kirkwood.

Is This Stewart Lee's First Ever Joke?

Was Stewart Lee's first-ever joke to be broadcast on television aired on the children's television programme Tiswas when he was barely a teenager?

A clip has surfaced of an episode of the show from September 19, 1981, in which presenter Sally James reads out jokes sent in from viewers as part of a competition and one of them is from a "Stewart Lee from Solihull". According to Wikipedia Lee grew up in Solihull and went to school there.

Twitter Has Field Day After Matt Hancock Stung By Scorpion In Im A Celebrity Jungle

Perhaps unsurprisingly Twitter and social media has had a field day after the new broke today that Matt Hancock had been stung by a scorpion.

Reports say medics dealt with the incident and Hancock has not had to leave the camp, yelping after the sting and comparing it to a bee sting.

Comedy writer David Quantick was quick to quip: "I'll be outside my house tonight, clapping the scorpion."

Rhod Gilbert's latest show, The Book Of John, is released this Monday, November 14, on DVD and digital download.

Gilbert says of the show, "After years away from stand-up dealing with some pretty heavy life stuff, 'The Book of John’ is my comeback tour, and now it’s available to you lovely punters. It’s a very personal, very raw and very honest show…maybe a little too personal at times, but hopefully it’ll make you laugh."
