Their invitees will be the people who formed the ideas that have shaped their work, inspiration, creativity and life. Some may be heroes and, some may be villains, a few may be in-between. Edinburgh Fringe Review – Robin Ince, Weapons of Empathy, Gilded Balloon

Robin Ince is well known among his fans for going over his allotted time, but for this show he went in the other direction. He started before his allotted time. I walked in bang on 1pm as is my wont and Ince was already in full flow. Corduroy jacket on. Book in hand. A few piles of books by his side. I'd not only missed some pre-gig preamble but he'd already handed out cards asking his audience to list books that had helped them to be more empathetic.

ISH Comedy Award Winners Announced

The winners of the inaugural (ISH) Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Show and Best Newcomer have been announced at the Ceremony at The Three Sisters today along with the Panel Prize.

 

The (Insert Sponsor Here) Edinburgh Comedy Awards began earlier this summer, when the long-established Edinburgh Comedy Awards lost their funding and looked unlikely to go ahead in 2023.

Edinburgh Comedy Awards Winners Announced

In the 41st year of the most prestigious prize in live comedy Ahir Shah has been announced as the winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Sky Best Comedy Show, and Urooj Ashfaq as the winner of DLT Entertainment Best Newcomer, whilst ‘Show for Gareth Richards’ - organised by his best friends, comedians Danny Ward and Mark Simmons - has been awarded the Victoria Wood Award.
