Director Nick Steel has given this year’s Bath Plug Award (for outstanding services to comedy) to Julian Clary, at the end of a hilarious one-off performance at Bath Forum which heralded the end of this year’s Bath Comedy Festival.

Comedians Go Head To Head For Comedy Eurovision Contest

Cult comedy night Piñata is teaming up with Clapham Grand to present comedians (who can sing) in a one-off grand final of original songs, outrageous competition and live voting to crown the Comedy X Eurovision 2023 champion.

On May 10th 2023, Nine hilarious comedians, representing everything from Iceland to Claudia Winkleman, will take to the stage to perform their very own original songs for the ultimate Eurovision trophy.

Crowdfunder Set Up For Sons Of Comedian Gareth Richards

A Crowdfunding campaign has been organised to raise funds to set up a trust fund for the two young children of Gareth Richards. The 41-year-old comedian died on Good Friday after being involved in a car crash on the M25. 

The fund was set up by his management Mirth Control. The aim was to raise £500, but at the time of writing the fund had already exceeded its target and raised £1837 (update - this story was published yesterday, the figure has gone up to over £13000).
