News: Voting Opens For The UK Comedy Awards

Voting has now opened for this year's UK Comedy Awards. These are the only awards for comedians voted for by comedians.

The awards, also known as the Comics Comic Awards, were started in 2013 by John Moloney as an alternative to various other prizes that he felt did not recognise professional comedians who work the circuit year in, year out.

There are three categories this year.

The Funny Women Awards have announced their celebrity mentors.

The finalists of the Stage Award, which takes place at Koko in Camden on September 28 and is compered by Kerry Godliman, can look forward to expert advice from Zoe Lyons, Doon Mackichan, Shazia Mirza, Sara Pascoe, Tiffany Stevenson and Ellie Taylor.

News: Al Murray Tops Benefit Bill

Al Murray headlines a one-off benefit gig at the Comedy Store on Monday, November 3 organised by John Moloney (pictured) and The Comedy Store. Murray's Pub Landlord is joined by Wayne Deakin, Zoe Lyons, Alistair Barrie, Fred Macaulay and The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Review. John Moloney will be the compere.
