Blindboy from The Rubberbandits is to get his own BBC Three show, entitled Blindboy Undestroys the World.

With a combination of investigative reporting and absurdism, anarchic polemist Blindboy leaves Limerick to unpack the housing crisis. From dodgy landlords to the multinationals, he seeks to expose the stark reality of being a millennial simply looking for a place to call home.

Following two sell-out runs at the Soho Theatre last year, Ireland's rap scalliwags The Rubberbandits don their plastic shopping bags and return to the scene of their rhymes in a few weeks with the world premiere of their new show, Continental Fistfight. They are at the Soho Theatre from January 30 to February 22 and tickets can be bought here.

The Soho Theatre's comedy programming policy has been consistently high in recent years but in the last couple of months they've blotted their impeccable track record with a few disappointing – to me, anyway – American visitors. Judah Friedlander failed to lived up to the hype and college humour duo Jake & Amir just made me feel old with their blend of juvenile smut and puerile banter. But the best venue(s) in London gets back on track this week with two surefire bets both opening on Monday.

When I set up this website in December the idea was that live reviews would appear on the morning after the gig at the latest. I didn't allow for Limerick's Rubberbandits, who have immediately made me rush off and delete that clause in my mission statement. No other comedy act in years has taxed my critical faculties quite as much as this spoof Irish rap trio.
