News: Rob Brydon, Jo Brand, Rory Bremner Headline Slapstick Benefit

Rob Brydon is to host a fund-raiser for the UK’s biggest festival of screen comedy, Slapstick, at The Hexagon in Reading on Tuesday 7 May.

The line-up will also feature Jo Brand, comedy magician John Archer, Canadian stand-up star Dana Alexander, Rory Bremner, a master at mimicking top politicians with tight and topical wit and fellow impressionist Luke Kempner.

Alexander Armstrong is to host a new impressions show for ITV1. The Imitation Game is a panel show with a twist. Top impressionists Rory Bremner and Debra Stephenson together with Britain’s Got Talent’s Jess Robinson and rising star Luke Kempner are challenged to perform big name impersonations in a series of rounds and games. So what will happen when Donald Trump rubs shoulders with Cheryl Cole, or Boris Johnson duets with Adele?

This fast-paced ITV1 pilot will be recorded at Elstree Studios on 7th July.
