Fist Of Firsts is the podcast that will uncover comedians’ backstories by exploring all their key “first times”, their pivotal first steps, as they carved out their career as one of the nation’s top funny people.
The Cross Wires Podcast Festival has announced its first batch of shows.
The festival takes place in various venues in Sheffield from Friday 31st May – Sunday 2nd June. Sheffield's most iconic venues will be packed for live shows, never-seen-before performances and special guests - all hosted by the biggest names in podcasting, across comedy, current affairs, culture, sport, family and wellbeing.
After the sold-out success of their 17-date Two Pints Podcast, LIVE! Tour in 2022, WILL MELLOR and RALF LITTLE are heading back on the road with their brand-new, hilarious April Fools’ Live Tour! 2024. Starting in Manchester on the 5th April, the tour visits 6 cities across the UK, culminating at Sheffield’s City Hall on 28th April.
Elis James and John Robins have won the Gold award for Best Entertainment Show for their BBC Radio 5 show at the British Podcast Awards.
Second place went to Help I Sexted My Boss hosted by William Hanson and Jordan North and third place went to British Scandal, presented by Matt Forde and Alice Levine.

The CHEERFUL EARFUL Podcast Festival, the first ever comedy podcast festival, will return to London this Autumn with some of the UK’s biggest and most beloved comedy pods performing live.
The London Podcast Festival – now in its eighth year – will take place from 7-17 September. Kings Place is the UK’s home of live podcasting, having presented live podcast shows since 2010 before the launch of the London Podcast Festival in 2016 which was Europe’s first major podcast festival.
Esteemed comedy academic Dr Oliver Double has launched a new podcast. Each episode features a long-form interview with a comedian in which they discuss their craft, their unique contribution to the stand-up scene and the joys and challenges of their comedy careers.
Interviewees so far include Charmian Hughes, who talks about her ever-evolving career from the 1980s to today and Ray Campbell, who discusses his experience of performing political stand-up and talks about racism and sexism in the comedy world.
