News: Only Fools And Horses Musical Extends Run

Following huge demand for tickets, Only Fools and Horses The Musical at the Theatre Royal Haymarket has been extended for a further five months until February 2020. The show,  which opened in February this year to a host of glowing reviews, has sold over 200,000 tickets so far and will release a further 100,000 tickets on Monday 10 June.

News: Book, Line & Sinker – Publishing Deal for Fishermen Mortimer & Whitehouse

Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse are working on a book inspired by their BBC2 series Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing.

The book, which has the same title as the BBC2 series, will be published by Blink Publishing on May 30. In it the two comedy greats "talk life, friendship and the joys of fishing." The comedians are also currently working on a second series which will be broadcast in 2019, probably to coincide with the publication of the book.

In fact if it was made at all without them it would be lucky to get an airing on  – insert obscure digital channel name here – in the afternoon. The languid pace, the beautiful scenery, two elderly men discussing their heart operations. This is afternoon telly catnip. Not so much The Fast Show as The Extremely Slow Show.

BBC Comedy has today announced The Felix Dexter Bursary - a traineeship for high potential comedy writers from BAME backgrounds, working with Paul Whitehouse.

Two places will be available on the six-month scheme which gives participants an unrivalled insight into comedy production, where they can develop their skills and help shape the future of comedy production, whether in the BBC or elsewhere in the wider broadcasting industry.

Principal photography has started  on Ghost Stories, the film based on the original Olivier nominated stage production. The film is co-written and directed by Jeremy Dyson (writer The League of Gentlemen, Psychobitches) and Andy Nyman (The Commuter, Severance) who co-wrote and directed the original stage production.
