I had a bit of a minor panic when I was waiting for Maisie Adam. The Yorkshire-born, Brighton-based comic was one of the acts I had circled when I saw the line-up announced in the same way I used to circle the programmes I definitely wanted to see in the Christmas edition of the Radio Times.
New show Yesterday, Today and the Day Before offers a female take on world events, with the first episode featuring panellists Suzi Ruffell, Sophie Duker (pictured), Maisie Adam (pictured) and Steph McGovern. Labour Alumni Alistair Campbell also joins as a guest on the show.
It might be the ultimate accolade for some to appear in Viz's lookalikes section, but maybe it depends who they think you look like.
There used to be a bit of a joke in media circles that when the guests left a high brow BBC arts review programme they could all share the same taxi because they all lived a few streets from each other in fashionable Islington. This crossed my mind because two of the excellent comedians on the final edition of Mock The Week, Maisie Adam and Angela Barnes, are both based in Brighton.
