News: New Series Of Fleabag Gets BBC One Airing In Schedule Shake Up

The BBC is announcing a change to its scheduling to create a special slot devoted to showcasing the best of BBC Three programming. This means that the second series of Fleabag will quickly air on BBC One as well as be available online on BBC Three.

Beginning at 10.35pm, between Monday and Wednesday every week, select BBC Three programmes from the award-winning channel will showcase in a new, regular destination after the News at Ten on BBC One.

Dame Kristin Scott Thomas and Fiona Shaw CBE are set to guest in the second series of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s award-winning series Fleabag. The highly anticipated second series, produced by Two Brothers Pictures, will premiere on BBC Three and Amazon Prime Video this spring.

News: Second Series Of Fleabag – Casting Announced

Filming has started on series two of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag, the multi award-winning hit series produced by Two Brothers Pictures.

Returning to the principal cast are Olivia Colman (Godmother), Sian Clifford (Claire), Bill Paterson (Dad), Brett Gelman (Martin), Jenny Rainsford (Boo) and Hugh Skinner (Harry). Andrew Scott, who played Jim Moriarty in the BBC series Sherlock, joins the cast for series two.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge and the BBC have announced that award winning international hit comedy Fleabag will return for a second series in 2019. 

Speaking at Edinburgh Television Festival, Waller-Bridge was in conversation with BBC Controller of Comedy Shane Allen on a panel discussing the creation of the hugely successful comedy, and confirmed that a much-anticipated second series will be coming to BBC Three.

Camping, Fleabag and People Just Do Nothing have been nominated as Best Comedy in the 21st South Bank Sky Arts Awards.

Camping, by Julia Davis, was broadcast on Sky Atlantic. Fleabag, by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and People Just Do Nothing first went out on BBC Three.

News: 3 Bafta Nominations For Fleabag, 2 for Last Leg, People Just Do Nothing, McIntyre & Cunk

The Last Leg features in nominations in two categories in the BAFTA TV Awards, announced today.

The C4 show fronted by Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker is up for Best Comedy & comedy Entertainment Programme alongside Charlie Brooker's Wipe 2016, Cunk on Shakespeare and Taskmaster.

And Adam Hills is nominated for Best Entertainment Performance alongside Claudia Winkleman for Strictly Come Dancing, Graham Norton for The Graham Norton Show and Michael McIntyre for Michael McIntyre's Big Show.

News: Phoebe Waller-Bridge Confirms Second Series Of Fleabag

Fleabag will be returning for a second series.

Creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge has told the Radio Times that filming will start on November. The new series should be ready to air in 2018.

Waller-Bridge picked up a Broadcasting Guild Award for Best Writer yesterday and at the awards told the Radio Times that she was only keen to bring the acclaimed series back if she had a "an idea that was good enough".

News: Mum Wins Best Comedy At Broadcast Awards – Results

Mum, the BBC sitcom starring Lesley Manville and written by Stefan Golaszewski, has won Best Comedy Programme at the Broadcast Awards this evening.

The shortlisted shows were Catastrophe, Camping, Fleabag, Murder In Successville and Chewing Gum.

Live Review: Fleabag, Soho Theatre

This was interesting. I’ve never been to a performance in a theatre that felt so much like a cross between a rock gig by your favourite band and a victory lap of honour. Having gathered various stage prizes Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s play was then adapted for BBC3 and will no doubt go on to collect TV awards by the bucketload in the next few months.
