Update 26/6: Reginald D Hunter and Mark Steel have been added to the Festival bill. Mark Steel will be performing in the 9.15pm slot on Monday 8 July, replacing Simon Evans. Mark will be performing his Every Little Thing’s Gonna Be Alright set whilst Reginald D Hunter will be appearing on Wednesday 10 July at 9.15pm and delivering what he describes as "A full-throated preview."
After a positive reaction to last year’s programming, Rewind is rolling out their biggest comedy line-up yet with some of the best-loved names in the game, who will all be performing at the festival for the first time. These giants in stand-up will complement the world class artists on the main stage like Bryan Ferry, Foreigner, Michael Bolton, Four Tops, Thin Lizzy and Gloria Gaynor.

You may have seen or heard Angela on a number of topical comedy TV and radio shows, and do you know what? She is just about fed up of the news! She’s anxious, she’s depressed and she’s fatigued. Bored of Brexit, tired of Trump and knackered by North Korea. The world is going to hell in a handcart and Angela, a natural pessimist, is fed up of commentating on it all as it happens.
Angela Barnes has gradually been moving up the stand-up ranks in recent months, making an impression on radio and TV shows such as Mock The Week. Her short Latitude set, partly greatest hits but maybe also a taster for her next Edinburgh show, confirmed that she is an increasingly formidable performer.
Following sell-out Fringe shows in 2014, 2015 and 2016, Angela Barnes (Mock The Week, Alan Davies’ As yet Untitled, Russell Howard’s Good News, BBC R4’s The News Quiz, host of Newsjack on BBC R4Extra) hits the road from March 2018 with Fortitude.
On November 9th 2016, two momentous things happened to Angela, which have deeply affected her. Donald Trump won the US election and she turned 40.
On Tuesday 22 August, Angela Barnes and friends will travel (by minibus) to Scotland’s secret nuclear bunker in Fife to perform a gig to an audience of 15. A tour of the bunker is also included.
Pick up is 11.30am at, appropriately, Bunker One in the Pleasance Courtyard, then the audience is driven to Fife's secret underground bunker for a gig at 1pm. After the show the audience will be driven back to the Pleasance Courtyard, arrival approximately 3.45/4pm.
London’s weekend comedy festival ARGComFest (Actually Rather Good Comedy Festival) is set to return for its 6th year. The two-day extravaganza will feature 60 comedians performing at Shoreditch Town Hall on July 1 & 2.
The festival is firmly established as the place where the finishing touches are put on soon-to-be award-winning shows heading up to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Award-winning comedian Angela Barnes has today been announced as the host of the next series of Radio 4 Extra’s satirical sketch show Newsjack, airing next year.

Comedian Angela Barnes' first Radio 4 series goes out this August. Based on her critically acclaimed debut show at the Edinburgh Fringe 2014, You Can't Take It With You will be broadcast on Wednesdays at 11pm from August 10.
