The finalists have been announced for the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year 2024.

Actor Timothy West has died. He was 90.
In a long acting career he played a number of major straight dramatic roles such as Bolingbroke in Richard II and notched up appearances in Macbeth and Day of the Jackal, but also featured in a number of comedies including Not Going Out where he played the original Geoffrey Adams and Inside No 9. He was one of the stars of the very first Inside No 9 episode, Sardines (pictured). He was also one of the few actors to appear in both EastEnders and Coronation Street.
James Acaster's latest show Hecklers Welcome is set to premiere on November 23 on HBO Max.
No UK broadcast date has been announced.

The new live DVD from Mock the Week star Rhys James completely sold out on the day of release within 90 minutes of going on sale.

Al Murray's precious Pub Landlord outfit has been stolen. Murray is currently on tour and his rented silver Mercedes was broken into. The rear window was smashed and goods including the stage outfit were taken.
Murray broke the news on social media: "Congratulations to the thief who will soon be dressing up as the Pub Landlord. "
Details of comedian Janey Godley's funeral have been announced by her daughter Ashley Storrie. Godley died last week, aged 63.
Storrie posted the following on Godley's social media account:
"For the past few years of Ma's life, it was important to her that she shared her journey with everyone, to offer support for others on the same path and to highlight the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer - all of course in her very singular Janey style, with laughter and candour.
