Week Ahead: Jan 27 - Feb 3

The exciting news earlier this month that the Mighty Boosh were to tour in 2014 was promptly quashed by the management but you can see half a Boosh tonight at the Soho Theatre when Julian Barratt appears in the guise of guru Jon Breeze. Tickets sold out in a blink, of course, but check the Soho Theatre website every few seconds today in case extra tickets are released.

At Soho tomorrow and Wednesday is John Robins, who definitely feels like he is on the cusp of breaking through. I reviewed the young Bristolian's show at the start of Edinburgh last August. It was good but slightly petered out. Others - and Robins himself – told me later in the month that it got a lot tighter, so his tales of young romance, premature gout and more should have a happy ending here.

This is definitely a week when it's a choice between the nutters and the normals. If you like your humour more quirky, Kurt Braunohler is also at Soho Theatre from Tuesday, without his usual partner in offbeat crime this time round, Kristen Schaal. If you prefer your humour more easy going and accessible Hebburn's Chris Ramsey brings his tour to the Bloomsbury Theatre from Thursday, in which he reveals how he was booted off Soccer AM and much more. Ramsey is probably the least anarchic comedian you'll ever come across which makes his story all the more intriguing.

And finally veteran – though I bet he hates that word – Mark Steel brings his In Town format to the Leicester Square Theatre for three nights, also from Thursday. This is the show where he finds out quirky local details and scours the local papers for odd stories. On the one hand this should be the easiest show on the Londoner's UK tour, on the other it could be the hardest. Either way it should be pretty funny.
